These classes run as a series but each class is self-contained so you can also just drop-in.

Overcoming stress

Stress, anxiety and depression are endemic in our busy, fast paced life. It seems like whatever our lifestyle we will at times experience stress.

Buddha taught that so much of the stress and tension we experience comes from our mind and many of our daily problems, such as relationship difficulties and ill health, are aggravated by this stress. By learning to identify the actual causes of stress and unhappy thoughts, we can begin to understand how to become free from them.

On this meditation course we will explore how meditation along with special ways of thinking and changes in perspective heal our mind of the source of these problems, enabling us to reduce and finally eliminate stress.

Week 1: Letting Go of Stress – Creating an inner refuge

Week 2: Why worry? – Understanding why we get stressed

Week 3: This too shall pass – Contemplating impermanence

Week 4: Lasting freedom – Finding peace in emptiness

No previous meditation experience is necessary.
