Sun 1 June | 10.30am – 1.30pm

Out of the Ordinary – Introduction to Tantra Sun 1 June 10.30am – 1.30pm

This Sunday morning course gives an overview of the practice of Tantra according to Buddha’s teachings. This is a meditation practice that is used to attain enlightenment quickly.

This course is suitable for anyone, no previous experience or understanding of Tantra is needed.

ABOUT THE COURSE

Buddha’s teachings can be divided into Sutra and Tantra.

Sutra teachings are focused on developing minds such as love, compassion, wisdom, and the wish to attain enlightenment to be able to benefit others.

Tantra involves imagining you are already a Buddha and are performing enlightened actions which benefit others, as well as meditations to increase our wisdom and bliss.

This course will give an overview of Tantra based on the teachings of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche, a world-renowned meditation master who holds the very essence of Buddha’s teachings in his heart.

“In his Sutra teachings Buddha gives us great encouragement to accomplish the ultimate goal of human life. This goal will be accomplished quickly through the practice of Tantra. Tantra, also known as ‘Secret Mantra’ or ‘Vajrayana’, is a special method to purify our world, our self, our enjoyments and our activities; and if we put this method into practice we shall very quickly attain enlightenment.”
