Open Day with Meditation Talk “Finding Peace from Within”

Get inspired at our special free Open Day event.
The day starts with a talk “Finding Peace from Within” by Buddhist nun Kelsang Yonchen who is the resident teacher at the centre.
She will explain how simple meditation practices, and practical techniques for daily life can help us to become more happy, peaceful and content even when things are chaotic.
During the Open Day you can enjoy free meditations, guided tours of our peaceful meditation space, buy a cuppa in the cafe or browse in our book & gift shop.

You are welcome to come at any time during the Open Day, so dont worry if you miss the morning talk, we would still be delighted to see you.
You can come on your own or with others, either way you can be sure of a warm, friendly welcome.

10:30am – doors open
11am – 12:15pm – ‘Finding Peace from Within’ Talk & guided meditations with Buddhist nun Kelsang Yonchen
12:15 – 3:00 Cafe open, Informal guided tours, meet the teacher and volunteers
1pm, 1.45pm and 2.30pm: 15 minute Meditation Taster sessions

- Free talk is at 11 – 12.15pm and will comprise a talk with some short meditations
- Screen in the Cafe for those with small children
- Join in person or available to join online via livestream for members

- All income goes to running the centre which is a registered charity.
Kelsang Yonchen is the Resident Teacher at Kadampa Meditation Centre Aberdeen. She has been practising Kadampa Buddhism for over 14 years.
Yonchen is known for her warm heart, practical wisdom, and clear, accessible teaching style that makes Buddha’s teachings easy to understand and apply in daily life.
