The perfect retreat getaway
Set in an idyllic retreat venue in tranquil surroundings facing the ocean. Between meditations you can enjoy walking by the sea and on the coastal path, sitting in the garden by the stream, relaxing in the outdoor hot-tub or wandering around the 17th Century historic harbour.
The power of silence
Normally we are constantly distracted by external objects, busy activities and scattered thoughts. Observing silence is a powerful method to disengage us from busyness and to deepen our contemplation and concentration. The retreat has periods of silence and participants are asked to switch off their phones for the duration of the retreat.
The retreat
A summer meditation retreat to let go of the stress and busyness of daily life and find your happy place inside. The retreat will follow a gentle rhythm, with time for meditation, time to be with others & time in nature, all designed to help you to experience your inner peace and wellbeing.
Buddha said, “You are your own protector, You are your own enemy.”
Often we try to protect ourselves by constantly changing and improving our external situation but still we experience suffering and unhappiness.
We can find a stable inner protection from our problems and fear by developing the mental strength of spiritual refuge. Meditation is at the heart of Buddhism and protects us from our ‘delusions’ – unpeaceful, uncontrolled states of mind such as anger and ignorance by instead concentrating on peaceful, positive states of mind such as patience, love and wisdom.
Drawing inspiration from Buddha’s teachings, example and living presence in the world, and drawing encouragement from other spiritual practitioners we can learn to build our own unshakeable inner refuge and protection through our spiritual practice.
The perfect way to start the summer!
