Grand Opening Weekend – March 24 – 26
Join us for the truly auspicious occasion of the official opening of Kadampa Meditation Centre Aberdeen with Gen-La Kelsang Dekyong, General Spiritual Director of the New Kadampa Tradition.
The event will take place over the weekend of 24-26 March and will include the official opening ceremony on Friday, a day course of teachings with Gen-la Dekyong on Saturday followed by a short retreat guided by Gen Kelsang Tubchen on Sunday.
We have reached full capacity in the meditation room for Friday’s opening ceremony and Saturday’s course, we can now offer live streaming of the opening ceremony and teachings via videolink in the centre cafe. On Saturday we will endeavour to offer an opportunity to attend one of the sessions in the meditation room during the day. Please enquire on arrival on Saturday morning.
Becoming a Modern Kadampa – the Union of Daily Life and Dharma
Over the weekend Gen-la Kelsang Dekyong will give teachings on how to be a modern Kadampa practitioner. Starting with a short talk during the opening ceremony on how to be a Bodhisattva community truly dedicated to the happiness of others and working together with joy and harmony to accomplish this aim.
Then on Saturday we have the rare opportunity to learn from such a senior teacher about Kadampa Buddhism. She will share with us the essential practices taught within Kadampa Buddhism and how they are both practical and profound, helping us to solve our daily problems and to turn our daily lives into the spiritual path to Enlightenment.
In this way without abandoning our normal activities find great spiritual meaning in our life and become an inspiring example and friend to all those we meet.
