Where do you think happiness comes from?
We usually believe that our happiness comes from external conditions such as food, friends, jobs, houses, technology, money, adventure and so on. However we can have all these things and still not be happy – still feel like there is something missing in our lives.
They can also bring us many problems and worries.
Suffering and Happiness are states of mind, so their causes cannot be found outside of the mind. Understanding this, we can begin to explore within our own mind to discover the real causes of the pure, lasting happiness that we all long for.
In this inspiring series of stand alone classes you will learn how practical meditations and methods for developing and experiencing non deceptive happiness – our own peace of mind.

- The class runs from 7pm – 8:15pm
- There are 2 guided meditations and a practical teaching in each class.
- Optional discussion at the end of class in the cafe
- Join in person or available online via livestream for members
- You can attend any individual class
Cost:
- £10 (free for members)
- Concessions available for students & those on a low income £6 per class
- For members the classes are free, no need to book, just drop in
- All income goes to running the centre which is a registered charity
- Cancellations up to 24 hours prior to the course will receive a full refund minus a 10% admin fee
Kelsang Yonchen is the Resident Teacher at Kadampa Meditation Centre Aberdeen. She has been practising Kadampa Buddhism for over 14 years and was ordained as a Buddhist nun in 2023. Before moving to Aberdeen, she served as the Resident Teacher at Ganden Ling Kadampa Meditation Centre in Cornwall. Yonchen is known for her warm heart, practical wisdom, and clear, accessible teaching style that makes Buddha’s teachings easy to understand and apply in daily life.
