Centre cherishing days

Volunteering and working together can be very enjoyable and is a perfect way to take your meditation practice ‘off the mat’ by working to benefit others.

Please contact us if you would like to join in with volunteering on a regular basis.

Residential Volunteer Visits

We can offer residential volunteer visits where you can immerse yourself in the life of the centre.  In exchange for 30 hours work a week (spread over five days), you receive: seven days free accommodation in a peaceful one or two-bedded room, a generous food allowance to cover all your meals, full use of the centre’s facilities and free attendance at meditation classes during your stay. It is also a unique opportunity to meet and work alongside members of the residential community and to find out more about the Buddhist way of life.

The minimum visit requirement is 2 weeks.

We are a small but vibrant centre and so the volunteering is very varied and help is needed in areas such as cafe, maintenance, design, admin, household,  cleaning, reception, and out and about with publicity throughout the city and surrounding areas.  Depending on when you come you may be able to join in with one of our retreats by the sea or take a trip up to the Highlands.

Volunteering a wonderful way to learn new skills, have fun, make new friends and make a difference!
