Why Do We Suffer

Sun 15 Mar | 10.30am – 1.30pm

If you ever experience physical or mental pain you are not alone. Unfortunately everyone suffers to some extent or another at different times in their life – it is a normal part of every day life.

Through investigating the causes of suffering through the lens of Buddha’s wisdom we begin to see a different possibility – we can learn how to remove the causes of pain from within our own mind, and eventually become free from suffering completely.

In this half day course Kelsang Yonchen will give an introduction to The Four Noble Truths – the first teachings that Buddha gave, looking at how our unhelpful and confused states of mind cause us pain in lifetime after lifetime and explain how to practically identify and overcome these inner trouble makers using simple but profound meditation techniques.

“Just as it is possible to separate mud from water, so it is possible to purify the mind of all delusions. With no delusions remaining in our mind, there is nothing that can disturb our inner peace and joy”
