The Buddhist way of loving kindness – 19 May

Sunday 19 May 10:00am – 1:15pm

This is our second Sunday workshop focusing on the Three Principal aspects of the Buddhist Spiritual Path taught by the Great Buddhist Master Je Tsongkhapa.

Each course will focus on one simple spiritual truth or insight that will completely transform your life!

This course will explore the Buddhist way of Loving Kindness, and how our compassion leads us to an extraordinary spiritual mind called Bodhichitta, which is often described as a supremely good heart that leads us to Enlightenment.

In this course we will explore how to live a truly meaningful, spiritual life and how we can realise our full potential for the benefit of both ourself and others.  We will be guided step by step to develop a deep love and compassion that includes every living being.

Taught by our resident teacher, Buddhist Nun Gen Kelsang Tubchen, this course is suitable for anyone wanting to discover more about the Buddhist path to Enlightenment and how to integrate it into busy modern life.

The sessions will include guided meditations, teachings and the opportunity to discuss the topics with others during the breaks in the cafe.

Swept along by the currents of the four powerful rivers,
Tightly bound by the chains of karma, so hard to release,
Ensnared within the iron net of self-grasping,
Completely enveloped by the pitch-black darkness of ignorance,

Taking rebirth after rebirth in boundless samsara,
And unceasingly tormented by the three sufferings
Through contemplating the state of your mothers in conditions such as these,
Generate a supreme mind [of bodhichitta].”
